(806) 376-6316 Ext. 105
Barbara Whitton joined St. Andrew's staff in 2004 and, as the church's Pastoral Associate, her responsibilities cover a wide range of ministries. She coordinates many of the outreach efforts at St. Andrew's including English as a Second Language (which she also teaches), Ronald McDonald House, and Meals on Wheels. She is a founding board member for Friends of Aeolian Skinner Opus 1024. She organizes the yearly Lenten Series and developed an Environmental Stewardship Study Group at the church. She has been a member of St. Andrew's Chancel Choir for ten years.
Prior to moving to Amarillo, Barbara lived in New York City where she worked as a theatrical talent agent and co-owned a bi-coastal agency. Early in her career she was the assistant casting director on the daytime television soap opera, Guiding Light. During her years in New York she became acquainted with the Episcopal church at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Services and community events like the annual Blessing of the Beasts and the Winter Solstice concerts, along with the rich arts and musical tradition of the church fostered a profound spiritual experience that led to her becoming a member of the Episcopal community.
