Cantus
Gaining recognition as one of America's finest professional male vocal ensembles, Cantus enjoys a vigorous schedule of national tours, subscription concerts in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, innovative residencies and outreach programs, and recording. The Washington Post called the singers' sound "beaming and elastic" and referred to their music-making as "spontaneous grace." Rehearsing and performing without conductor, the ensemble's repertoire spans many periods and genres, including chant, Renaissance and Baroque music, contemporary works, art song, folk, spirituals, world music, and pop.

Emmanuel Lopez, Cello Artist
"Manny" Lopez will be performing the complete unaccompanied Cello Suites by Johann Sebastian Bach over a two night performance. You will not want to miss this beautiful free gift of music by Amarillo's own internationally renowned Cello Artist. Manny wanted to offer this free concert at a gift to the Texas Panhandle. We are very grateful. FASO and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church are proud to sponsor these two beautiful nights of music.
Currently on the faculty at West Texas A&M University, cellist Emmanuel Lopez is originally from Santiago, Chile. He is the 1988 winner of Janos Starker-Aldo Parisot International Cello Competition in Brazil. He has been a member of the Craftsbury Chamber Players since 1989 and has performed recitals throughout South America, the United States, Canada, France, and Israel. His recordings for the Delos label include Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and as a member of the Yale Cellos. As cellist of the Harrington String Quartet, he has recorded music by Martin Bresnick for the CRI label. He has also been featured in the Naxos label production of Samuel Jones: Roundings, as principal cellist of the Amarillo Symphony and in Jones Cello Sonata with pianist Denise Parr-Scanlin. He has been a guest soloist at both the Third and Sixth American Cello Congresses as well as a participant in the Piatigorsky and Schneider Seminars.

Oliveir Latry, Organist
Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris
Olivier Latry, titular organist of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, is one of the world’s most distinguished organists, not only in France, but in the international community as well. Not wishing to specialize in a particular repertoire, Olivier Latry would like to be an ambassador of seventeenth to twenty-first century French organ music, hence his equal devotion to the art of improvisation. Today he is counted among the most noted “improvisateurs” in the exceptional French tradition. Olivier Latry has performed in more than forty countries on five continents, appearing most often in the United States.
